His winning idea was to modify it using only cheap ebay parts. I think he wanted to order the exhaust system first (or had ordered and received it), but hadnt had the time to clear/fix all the fault codes the car came with, which I believe was his first priority (fix then modify).

It was a great idea, it’s exactly what I would’ve done too, I just found his latest response superweak. IIRC he simly said he didn’t care about the project and/or keeping everyone in the loop of what’s happening with the car, to which I thought: the whole point of you receiving that damn car is to keep us up-to-date on the progress.

Yeah that’s why it was free in the first place. It’s disappointing not to see him upholding his part of the deal. I really liked his winning idea.

Same here. Don’t get me wrong, I’m in no way trying patronize his reasonings behind not being able to continue, but his last response struck me as a guy not really giving a shit about the project and/or the people following the build rather than a guy taken off track ‘because life took over’.
